System Sensor
The 5151 thermal detector is engineered for critical environments where a fast response is essential, and sharp temperature spikes are strictly indicative of a fire emergency.
To provide comprehensive thermal monitoring, the device utilizes dual-action detection methods:
Rate-of-Rise Monitoring: Activates if the ambient temperature increases rapidly at a rate exceeding 15°F per minute. For fast-burning fires, this feature allows the device to transmit an alarm to the central control panel well before hitting its maximum thermal threshold.
Fixed-Temperature Sensing: Triggers a standard alarm once the ambient heat reaches a preset threshold of 135°F.
By combining these two methods, the detector delivers a prompt, reliable response to both fast-flaming blazes and slow, smoldering thermal increases.
